Portuguese hydrogen technology company founded in 2018, a joint venture between ULTIMATE CELL and SEMAPA, in a mutual effort to create a strategic solution aimed at energy efficiency.

UTIS holds an innovative technology for the optimization of internal and continuous combustion processes.

In response to the recent market requests, utilizing the acquired know-how of all combustion processes, UTIS has added to its portfolio hydrogen production units – UCHP® (Ultimate Cell® Hydrogen Production).

This revolutionary hydrogen technology decreases energy consumption and the use of fossil fuels and, as a result, their related pollutant and carbon emissions. Helping mobility and industries to become greener and more sustainable, with a smaller environmental footprint production processes.

We optimize continuous combustion processes leading to the reduction of fossil fuels consumption as well as the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere.
With the know-how of those two firms, being regarded as an example in their fields, UTIS® has developed its innovative product UC3® – ULTIMATE CELL® CONTINUOUS COMBUSTION. In continuous-combustion industrial applications, the ground-breaking UC3® reduces significantly the consumption of fossil fuels, as well as the emissions level of pollutants gases released into the atmosphere, resulting in numerous savings and gains within the continuous-combustion industrial processes.

This unmatched, disruptive technology, protected by a pending patent under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), within the framework of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) WO2018 / 142191, and covered with an American International Group Inc. (AIG) Insurance for Civil Liability to the amount of € 10,000,000.00 EUR, and with a territorial scope for the whole world at large, including the United States of America and Canada.

UTIS – UC3® technology, is employable to all industrial furnaces and boilers and covers diverse areas of production, such as cement, glass, paper pulp, iron and steel, biomass, power plants, municipal solid waste incinerators among other industries. With safety being the most critical requirement, UC3 system produces hydrogen (H₂) and oxygen (O₂), without mid-storage between the production and the point of consumption, and its entire components are provided by the highest reputed national and international companies.

Moreover, UTIS® is entirely dedicated is to continue to invest in technological research, qualified Portuguese workforce, and sustainable practices, in the quest for a better and more equitable world, at an environmental, social, and economic level.

Context of UTIS creation

In the last decades there has been a progressive deindustrialization of the most developed countries, mainly those in the European Union, like Portugal, in favor of others, especially China, India and some far eastern countries.

With this in mind, UTIS, founded in 2018 entirely with its own capital and with 100% Portuguese human resources, is a company that intends to position our country in the technological leadership of the world and at the same time boost national economic growth.

Consequently, and after years of research, we have developed the UC3 product, unique in the world, which optimizes the continuous burning of fossil fuels, reducing their consumption, reducing polluting emissions and saving energy thus contributing to a more sustainable environment.

Worth emphasizing that this innovative equipment, 100% safe (there is no risk of explosion as it injects hydrogen and oxygen without mid-storage between production and consumption), is covered by internationally renowned insurers in 5 million euros.

Bearing in mind the excellence of the system, the specialized workforce and the excellent results obtained in several areas of business and fuels (coal, natural gas, biomass, petcoque, petroleum …), we consider our growth plans viable.
