UTIS Achieves Milestone ISO 22734-1 Certification for Hydrogen Systems

UTIS certifies its hydrogen systems, reinforcing industrial safety

UTIS – Ultimate Technology to Industrial Savings, a Portuguese company specialized in technological solutions for the energy transition, has achieved a first-of-its-kind certification in Portugal in the hydrogen sector.

The company obtained ISO 22734-1, awarded by ABS Quality Evaluations (ABS QE), an international standard defining the design, construction, operation, and safety requirements for hydrogen generators using water electrolysis, covering industrial, commercial, and residential applications.

In addition, UTIS renewed its certifications for:

• ISO 9001 – Quality Management

• ISO 14001 – Environmental Management

• ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety

These certifications cover the company’s entire activity — from research and development to production and distribution of hydrogen generation systems — reinforcing UTIS’s commitment to excellence, sustainability, and operational safety.

The certificates are valid for three years and are subject to periodic audits to ensure ongoing compliance. ISO 22734-1 represents a strategic standard in the energy transition, ensuring safe and reliable practices in hydrogen production by electrolysis.
