Big news in the Brazilian press 📣 The newspaper Valor Econômico, by Luiz Fernando Figliagi, published an article about CSN – Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional, the first steel mill in the world to implement UC3® Technology from UTIS. In the interview, Fabiam Franklin, General Director of Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional, talks about how CSN has managed to “significantly” reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, presenting environmental gains and cost reductions.

In November, Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) incorporated a technology capable of reducing the consumption of fossil fuels into the regenerators of blast furnace 2 at Usina Presidente Vargas (UPV), in Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro, through the use of the hashtag #renewablehydrogen.

“We are excited about the evolution of the results of the partnership with CSN, now also in steelmaking processes. The goal is to optimize steel production and, at the same time, substantially reduce carbon emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future for the industry,” says Paulo Gonçalo, CEO UTIS
